Les Rendezvous is a ballet choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton, first premiered by the Sadler’s Wells Ballet (now the Royal Ballet) in 1933. This delightful and lively ballet captures the essence of a joyous meeting or rendezvous, and its choreography is characterized by its graceful and exuberant movements. Set to a score by Daniel Auber, the ballet features a series of playful encounters and romantic rendezvous among a group of young dancers in a picturesque park setting. The dancers showcase their technical knowledge and artistry as they engage in charming pas de deux, intricate group dances, and showcase the romantic relationships that unfold during these rendezvous.

The ballet is celebrated for its light-hearted and enchanting choreography, making it a cherished piece in the classical ballet repertoire.

Daniel-François-Esprit Auber (1782-1871) was a prominent French composer known for his contributions to the world of opera and ballet during the 19th century. Born in Caen, France, Auber showed an early aptitude for music and received his formal training at the Paris Conservatoire. He initially composed instrumental works, but his talent and passion led him to focus primarily on opera and ballet music.
